INSTRUCTIONS (do ALL of these, in order):

1. Fetch the transcript

- Read ~/Personal/skills/skill_index.md first; then use the youtube_transcript skill

(uv run fetch_transcript.py "<URL>"). If the primary method fails (IP block),

fall back to the skill's Method 2 (youtubesummary.com).

2. Write a balanced summary

- Summarize the video's TOPICS — not just its final claims. For a podcast, identify

the distinct segments/topics in order.

- Keep it factual and structured (bulleted by topic). Neutral tone: no cheerleading,

no reflexive dismissal.

3. FACT-CHECK the key claims (mandatory, this is a DEFAULT behavior)

- Run web searches on every consequential, surprising, or politically/ideologically

loaded claim. Especially scrutinize:

* vendor/corporate PR framings (e.g. a company citing its own stats as fact)

* "media hysteria / narrative is wrong" claims

* geopolitical and environmental characterizations

* self-reported numbers/benchmarks for a product the speaker has an interest in

- For each claim, categorize as: ✅ CONFIRMED, ⚠️ NEEDS NUANCE, or ❌ REFUTED, with a

citation/source. Note where stats are projections vs current, and flag internal

contradictions on the source itself.

4. Post to BotTalk (multiple posts, enrich not duplicate)

- Read the bottalk skill. SEARCH BotTalk first for existing posts on each topic;

UPDATE existing ones instead of creating near-duplicates.

- Create ONE post per distinct important topic/claim, plus ONE consolidated

"fact-check" post that lists the refuted/nuanced claims.

- Every post's body must carry a "FACT-CHECK / CORRECTION / CAVEAT (date, web-verified)"

section appended to the content, so future-you never repeats unvetted claims.

- Tags: include descriptive + fact-check. Use --body-file (a temp file) for long

bodies so $ and special characters are never mangled by the shell.

- Title/summary must read cleanly (no shell artifacts).

5. Report back

- Give the user the summary, the fact-check table (✅/⚠️/❌ by claim), and the list of

BotTalk post links created/updated.

QUALITY BARS:

- Verify numeric claims against independent sources; cite them.

- Label opinion vs. fact inside the BotTalk bodies (e.g. a host's thesis is not consensus).

- If the item is politically charged, explicitly note both the claim and the strongest

counter-evidence rather than relaying the source's framing.

I've now read the entire transcript. This is an All-In podcast interview with Eric Weinstein. Let me identify the topics&#8230;

Let me run the BotTalk gate — search the memory bus for existing content on these topics before I create posts.

None of these are relevant to the video topics. So I'll be creating new posts. Note that semantic results are weak match&#8230;

🤖 Assistant

The memory bus has no relevant existing posts on these topics (only weak noise matches), so I'll create fresh posts later. Now let me fact-check the key claims. Running web searches on the most consequential claims.

1) Summary — Eric Weinstein x All-In audio (Aug 27, 2026)

Recorded in a DC studio; host David Friedberg interviews Eric Weinstein (with Chamath, Sacks). Segments in order:

2) Fact-check table

#

Claim

Verdict

Source / note

1

"80-fold decline in return per gov research dollar"

⚠️ NEEDS NUANCE

Actually Eroom's Law (Scannell 2012, Nat Rev Drug Discov): pharma drug-R&D approval efficiency fell ~80× since 1950 — not "all federal science."

2

"Science has stalled in America"

⚠️ NEEDS NUANCE

Contested productivity debate, not settled fact.

3

Nature poll: 6% Trump / ~85% Harris

✅ CONFIRMED

86% Harris / 6% Trump, ~2,000 self-selected readers (Nov 2024); not a representative sample.

4

Mansfield Amendment + MIT→Draper

✅ CONFIRMED

1969–70 law limited DoD basic-research funding; Instrumentation Lab spun off 1973.

5

MACOS curriculum controversy

✅ CONFIRMED

Real 1970s NSF backlash (Wikipedia/ERIC).

6

"Peer review didn't exist before 1965"

❌ REFUTED

Peer review has 300+ yr history (Royal Society 1665; NIH study sections 1946). ⚠️ Nuance: modern formalized gatekeeping did consolidate mid-20th c.

7

Bhattacharya confirmed NIH Director

✅ CONFIRMED

Senate 53–47, 2025 (Great Barrington "fringe" past).

8

Lab-leak from WIV / "Fauci bioweapons, killed 10M"

⚠️/❌

Origin undetermined; 2025 WHO panel found no compelling evidence the virus was engineered. Lab-leak is a live unproven hypothesis; the Fauci accusations are ❌ unsubstantiated.

9

Physics "derailed by string theory since 1983–84"

❌ minority opinion

String theory remains a mainstream program; community rejects the "deliberate derailment" framing. No confirmed successor to SM is ⚠️ real, but ≠ "stalled by design."

10

DESI dark energy "already at 5 sigma"

⚠️ NEEDS NUANCE

DESI (real, Kitt Peak) 2025 hints dark energy evolves, at ~2.8–4.2 sigma — a strong lead, not yet the claimed 5 sigma.

11

"1971 Australian DoD doc proves antigravity/UAP=US weapons"

⚠️

Doc is ✅ real & declassified; the "functioning secret antigravity tech" reading is speculation.

12

"Geometric unity is next theory"; multi-temporal time

❌ opinion/self-promotion

Unpublished, no independent validation.

Best-sourced → weakest: #4,5,7 are solid history/confirmations; #10 and #1 are real research findings being overstated/overgeneralized; #6 is refuted as stated; #8, #9, #12 sit on the opinion/unsupported end. Note #8 and #12 are politically/ideologically loaded — the table lists both the claim and the strongest counter-evidence rather than relaying the speaker's framing.

3) BotTalk posts created

I searched the bus first — no existing posts on these topics were found (only weak noise matches), so all are new, each carries a dated FACT-CHECK/CAVEAT section, and opinion is labeled vs. fact throughout.
